Please school me on strings

I used to swear by roto 66s,they have a good even sound...but about a year ago ,good ole lobster on youtube turned me on to MJC ironworks string,now i wont use another string,unless its my 1980s suzuki pbass,it gets roto flats,but the MJCs i have on my Fender Pj are a year old and sound like i put them on just yesterday..i play said bass everyday for AT LEAST 2 hours a day ,if not longer,on my days off ill literally sit and play all day,so the strings have definitely got their use and still sound great. Another thing i have fun with is trying out tge cheap little no name companys you find on amazon and ebay,ive found some really good strings that way,cant remember any names off the top of my head at the moment,but just look youll find them

My experience with my '76 Jazz:
I alternate between flats and ground wounds. TI flats are low tension strings. They're expensive but last forever. I may use the TI's for 2-4 years. When I decide to switch to ground wounds, the bass needs a set-up. Every time. Why? The difference in string tension affects the neck. Every time..

Unfortunately, the owner of MJC passed away a few months back and the company is in limbo right now while they deal with it.

Lobster posted a new video recently about switching to S.I.T. Strings because of this. I looked into ordering some, but the shipping costs were excessive for me (as much as 2 set of strings).
