I am mostly a hobby musician, and have been playing music for the last 10 (or more?) Years. I started with a guitar, added bass to my repertoire, played trumpet, druma, and bass in high school jazz/funk bands. I have recently started learning the banjo as well. However, when I left for college a few years back, I left all of my electric instruments at home. Now I am a free man and am picking them back up again!
I find bass to be the instrument that I am best at, and I connect with it the most. While I have a lot of experience PLAYING I think that theory has been my weak point over the years, so I've been focusing on that lately. Through many Google searches I kept coming back to TalkBass, so I figured I should sign up!
My favourite genres are punk and hardcore, and I would love to be linked to some threads related to these. METZ, PUP, and DFA 1979 come to mind as some of my influences.
