Thank you very much for that.I suppose i can ge my guitar Technician to do it for cheap.
But then the warranty would be void so im going to ask Ian Woodhouse if he can organize to do this for me before its shipped here from the factory in the U.S.

To change the input sensitivity to 1.0V, change R13 and R14 (on channel 1) and R20 and R22 (on channel 2) to 24.3 kΩ, 1%. These are size 0805 thick film SMT resistors.

To change to 0.7V, change the four resistors to 34.0 kΩ 1% instead.

I would recommend not modifying the circuit, but adjusting the gain controls as needed on the amp and SansAmp instead. Circuit mods should be a last--not first--resort.

O.k Bob thank you very much again for this.
Your very right in saying it should be the last thing so im going to get it first then if it needs to be done i will take it to the QSC technicain in Australia or to a qualified electricain but as you said i will leave it as the last option.

I vote for gain knob. Modifying the amp sounds like overkill. My preamp gain needs tto be between 12-2 o'clock to push the 1804. At first it worried me but Ive never needed more gain or had any issues with the preamp gain being twisted this high. Sounds good to me.

No i thought about it & im going to leave it & try it first. With Poweramps ive always kept the gain at around 12 o`clock.If it has to be pushed up a little i dont think is bad.But if i find at a gig its not keeping up well i will change the Sensitivity.

Bob i know this is going to P**S You Off `im sorry` but here goes ,
I spoke to the QSC wholeseller the other day on the phone right after you replied about changing the resistors to get a 1.0vrms sensitivity.Well here is your reply to me about getting it done via factory` quote........
We'll do any factory mod that the customer wants to pay for, as long as it's not illegal or unsafe. A gain mod via factory special order would add about $45 USD to the wholesale price, and I don't know what the retailer would then pass along to the customer.

Then i asked you about which resistors to change & you replied quote.......

There seems to be some confusion as I am advised that QSC cannot do the modification off the production line for export orders.

This means we would have to do the conversion here in our Service Department. Their estimates are below:





The mod involves changing 12 resistors on the main board.

Cost to do it:-

Labour 2.0hrs $220.00

Research 0.5hrs (we have tables for some PLX, not the 1804) $55.00

Parts $30 – we have to obtain parts in minimum quantity orders



Total cost: $305 plus GST.

Either these people dont have a clue whats going on or their just trying to side track me so i dont get it done , either way im getting screwed !!

If i may ask you Bob`If you would be able on my behalf to email these idiots to tell them that i dont lie ? Maybe they think that im just lying to them to get it done & if they hear from a real qualified QSC tech they may change the tune !! I know Bob is correct in my heart because when i fisrt asked Ian Woodhouse about it he had never heard of doing this within AU before.
Please help me Dr.Bob.I can understand them trying to make money on this but what about the resisitors` saying 12 resistors have to be changed & it takes 2hrs to do instead of what you said ??
Can you contact them or should i get them to contact you Bob Lee ??

Na. Dont erase or PM. I'm reading this as a QSC owner and always enjoy Bob's input.
As to the OP, I'd forget all this modifying sensitivity stuff. Sounds troublesome. Im confused about your preamp and why all this is necessary. Anyway, keep it posted!!! Thanx.
