POD XT live output problem.

I have run some tests and narrowed the problem down to the PODXT live.
I changed cables thought this.
Please trust that I used an effects bypass box so that I could make sure my bass and amp were working and then switch and see the POD was not.

I have tried every configuration of Line/Amp and Normal/Pad input. I am running the DI into the right side of my preamp and the Model into the left. The DI never varies and gets a good sound. At first I could play 5 min before the sound dropped on the modeled side. Now I can only play about 3 seconds before the modeled sound drops out.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

You don't say what cables or preamp you are using, but the first thing to pop into my head is "phantom power". Is it possible that you're feeding the pod's output into an input with phantom applied?? MANY devices don't like that.

Just a stab.
