Poll: Fast Fret or Finger Ease

I have only used finger ease. After reading the comments on Fast Fret I ordered some from Amazon.
Guitar player in my old band kept a can of WD-40 on top of his amp and sprayed down his hands at the top of every set....
I Dr Ducks Ax Wax and love it too.I've used both of those, but prefer Fast Fret. Recently I've been using this one with good results.View attachment 5229206
I put it all over my bass.
There was a product I came across while working at a hotel, when a medical conference came through. It was this salve or whatever that was to be applied where a prosthetic would contact the limb. It was- I think- Teflon-based, and it would make your skin REMARKABLY slick, without any kind of greasy residue, and without spreading.
I wish I could offer more specific information, but I personally don’t need or like a slippery feel, so it was mostly just an odd object I had laying around that I’d occasionally show people; it was a pretty remarkable product, and I bet it’s worth your time if it’s not wildly expensive.

some strings are much stickier than others. i switched to less sticky rounds, but there's always flats and tapewounds, too.
wouldn't it be just as easy to use a quick-evaporating hand wipe to get the stickiness off your hands?

If you use hand lotion regularly, you not only will prevent callouses, your hands also won’t get sticky on your strings, and for a bonus your partner will like you touching them more.
For sure - we should start a thread about that. I like the Hemp lotion.
Same here. I know it's not necessary to do it, but it just looks nice and won't hurt the wood.
Ballistol, basically a gun stock oil, is a popular alternative around here. It's all mineral oil anyway.

I only use it when I’m taking a bass out of hibernation. Basses that get played all the time don’t seem to need it.

I use flats so there is little void space. I also wipe my strings down after every rehearsal or gig and use alcohol wipes during my OCD-like pre-gig prep that also includes checking and tightening all screws, nuts, etc.
I voted Fast Fret.
I like a nice and new container of it as, it gets everything nice and sloppy!
I’m always washing my hands at my job, so my skin is super dry. Now matter how much lotion.
I even oil up the back of the neck for some extra slide.
My Sadowsky has a nitro neck, and I hate how tacky it feels, so I paint every time I play.
Simple wipe down when complete.
