Used to play 5's, not anymore, so I voted 4 exclusively, that's what I'm playing now. But I have two fivers at home, and I'm toying the idea of converting them both to 8's, one with the secondary strings aligned to the bottom of the primary's for finger picking, and one with the strings aligned along the top for use with plectra. I don't need 8's for anything, just looking for something to try for schitzengiggles.

Home is a 5 stringer, and I've never played a 7 string, but depending on what I'm doing, I'll play any of these:

I picked "I'll play anything with strings regardless of how many" because that's the truth, any stringed instrument intrigues me. I currently only own 4 sting basses and 6 string guitars though, but if I had the money, the space, and the uh.... talent, my collection of instruments would be vast to say the least.
