i can understand that. You want the best from whichever wood you get, and the burl is a better example of a classic mtd, and a better example of burl, than the redwood.

the redwood has those neato contrasting lines tho......

id take both

personally i think this one is the most tasteful....

While I like that, I wouldn't choose it as my one MTD...these basses are too expensive to get experimental with the burst pattern like that.

The amber one that I got DOES have the veneer line that separates the Burl from the Tulipwood. It is just more subtle. It also has the matching headstock...
