Polyphonic Octave~ Micro POG vs OC3

I play a 5 string bass (EADGC)
and really want to get a polyphonic octave down sound, so i can play chords that are really full.

I'm looking at the micro pog which is what most guitarists recommended to me.
but there is also the boss OC3
for the difference in price I guess I'm looking to be told that the OC3 will prove effective for what i'm looking for.
i don't need the octave up the micro pog has to offer.
any opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

I use the Boss OC-3 with my Chapman Alto Stick. The 'useable' pitch, with this instrument, is not any lower than the A-string of the bass guitar. So, with the OC-3, I can get that extra octave down - into the range of a 'regular' 5-string bass.

The pedal has a 'Range' control that keeps the upper pitches from being affected (i. e., having an octave-down created). This works great with the Stick since it is very easy to play wide-spaced chords. With the pedal on, I can easily create chords spanning more than three octaves, with just my left hand.

I do have a 5-sting bass tuned E, A, D, G, C, but haven't tried it with the pedal.
