Poor man's Taurus pedals?

Hello there. I registered so that I can show you my poor man's Taurus.

Nice looking setup. I have Fatar pedals and Minitaur in a similar setup. I really like the sounds Minitaur delivers.

If you are a Facebook user, you can see some of the build sequence here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.491017110956384.110720.100001442984290&type=3

I've used the 12 Step/Minitaur set up for a couple of weeks now and I'm getting a positive response from it. The set up and transport was a bit of a pain on my first week but this housing made it a breeze. I plugged it into AC power, ran a couple of 1/4" cords to my instrument and my amp and tuned the synth and I was ready to go.

I have a little Behringer line level mixer in the set up and I use that to blend the pedal volume with my bass so I don't have to worry about the FOH guy making a decision about levels unless I want them too.
I'm getting GASsy. :help:

Hey guys, I have another mega-ultra-noob question but just wanted to confirm I can do this. I also want to use the 12-Step bass pedal a-la Chris Squire and Geddy Lee, but I wouldn't be able to afford the Minitaur. BUT, I recently got the Microkorg Synthesizer for Christmas, so I was wondering, is there a way to use the 12-Step as a controller for the Microkorg? I have a setting on the Korg which basically makes it sound like a deep bass, but naturally I gotta use my fingers.

Sorry for the silly question, but I'm completely new to this new world of MIDI and synthesizers. Thanks!

You will need to buy the midi expander for the 12 step. It has a normal midi out and in jack in it.

I just stumbled across the 12 step today. My question is, how do you power it if you're not plugging into a computer via USB? Also seems odd that you have to buy a separate box to transmit MIDI. Maybe I'm just missing something here? I'm happy with my PK5, but it would be nice to downsize. And for anyone wondering about playing chords, all you need is a multi timbrel synth and some programming skills. Can be time consuming, but it's worth it!

Ok, I'm involved in a project to stage Pink Floyd's The Wall. We are trying to cover as much of the keys and effects as we can without an actual keys player or two. I have my foot pedals, a custom job I got on eBay years ago, and an ancient EMU Vintage Plus module (which has some very useful sounds). I need to connect the module to be triggered by both the foot pedals and a key controller. I have been switching back and forth. How do I run both without switching? I really feel like an idiot with this stuff

Thought all might get a kick at seeing these

I used to own Korg's bass pedals purchased back in the early '80's. I'd say they qualified as a poor man's Taurus pedals. Don't fall for their good looks! The sounds from their module were a little bland. You needed a chorus pedal to warm them up otherwise they just seemed like a sine wave. If I were to go ahead yesterday (before seeing this McMillan pedal) I would have gone with the Roland PK-3 or 5 and the Moog Minitaurus. Live, my only issue was needing another amp to drive these pedals. You can obviously throw them through a FOH sound, but there wouldn't be a lot of soundmen who would send this back to you through the monitors to rock your world.
