Pops & clicks with BMAX-T

I just got a BBE BMAX-T preamp (driving a Stewart 1.2 amp). The "Sonic Maximizer" circuit is an interesting tone fattening tool. I like it, although whenever the Maximizer is engaged, there is a noticable pop or click at the start of each string attack. I can hear this from my speaker as well as through the DI. With the Maximizer circuit off, I get a nice clean signal.

Do any of you BMAX-T owners notice this behavior? I'm wondering if there might be a defect in this particular unit...

I used to have a BMAX-T, and I never noticed this happening, and I had the Sonic Maximizer on almost all the time.
