POS soundcard + Cubase sx = Latencyfest

Just wondering if there is a basic sequencing program that is "reasonably" compatible with a stockstandard soundcard? Cubase sx is raping me with about half a second of delay at the moment, and ive been getting by by editing the wave file so it fits in. Tedious is an understatement

Anyway, i dont need many tracks or features, just something thats workable until i get a decent soundcard....

....or maybe this is an impossibility?!

Without low latency soundcard and drivers your latency will be soundcard latency plus program latency plus 30 ms operating system latency (Windows). Changing the program won't improve things, probably even worsen them.

Get a decent card, e.g. M-Audio Audiophile 2496, don't get an Audigy because you can only work @ 48 kHz with low latency.
