It's funny the stuff we remember."Sooner Or Later" by The Grass Roots was the very first 45rpm single I ever bought with my own money. I distinctly remember that record being conspicuously louder than any other in my small vinyl collection at the time.
A very early 45rpm for me was "Up, Up, and Away". I begged dad to buy it & so he carried us to a dept. store named King's.
On the way, he informed me "this song isn't about Superman, ya know".
The 1st 45rpm I bought was "Light My Fire". My mom would get on me because I played it over & over & over. She wasn't thrilled about the word "higher" in there, either.
