Post Your '51-55 Precision or Tele-inspired bass

I will in a bit. But, I almost forgot.. I'm building a slab body 5er for a good friend. He has expensive taste. So, he shelled out some serious coin for a flame maple Warmoth neck w/ blocked and bound rosewood board, and vintage 6230 fretwire, possibly stainless.. I'll need to check the spec sheet before I start the fretwork.
The body is an alder Warmoth 51 Deluxe that I no longer see offered on their website. I need to email them about that!
Warmoth doesn't offer a single coil route for their 5 string P basses, and I had Howard Ulyate make us one spec'd for 17.5 mm bridge spacing. So, I made the pickup template and routed it out. I just shipped the body out for paint. So, now I'll be shaping the neck to feel close to what the owner's Laklands and Carl Pedigo's bass necks feel. And, then there's all the fret stuff, tinting the maple, applying finish and logo… So much to be done. But, I love it!

Can someone help me ID this Tele style bass? I saw this picture and liked it. I want one!
It's an interesting look, with those very large pole pieces and equally large position dots.

Glare from the lights maybe? Either way, I've never found that body shape attractive, and it's definitely got a design flaw with the lack of an upper horn making the frets shift to the left a couple inches, like a Warwick Thumb.
Spent some of my day making a tele headstock template, and using it on this neck below. Hand sanded the contours. Then, I used some medium brown dye to enhance the grain. Still have lots more to do. But, here's some pics.
Just put this '54 body together with my '88 neck, both Warmoth. The '51 Stinger custom shop pickup is like nothing I've heard before. It's the 1st single coil p-bass I've ever played in 40 years and its distinctive. I like it.

I'm loving that maple!! And that grain on the body is primo!
I fixed the uneven burn due to my torch acting up. I've started the sealing process now.
Really nice grain on that piece of wood!
What are you using, oil or laquer?
