What's it like to play?
It's a pretty awesome player. I'm generally more of a jazz bass styled player but this one is full on P. Chunky neck, flats, and that well placed single coil. I've had other P's over the years and never quite bonded with them. This one however really is nice. I highly recommend this bass.

Never got around to posting my 54 transition blackguard inspired build that was completed a couple years ago. MJT body, nitro over poly Fender neck. SCPB-1, Luxe brown .1UF brown phone book cap, 15K resistor. Just wish it had turned out more blonde, so I'm going to have it repainted Surf Green and build a 51 style in pancake batter blonde. The finish on the neck pocket actually caught fire when I used a lighter to melt some of the finish checking so it needs to be repainted anyway. I like surf green.
Squier MiC Classic Vibe 50's Precision Bass.
There is always a Tele style bass somewhere in my rotation. Lately it's this Bronco that I trimmed back the headstock. Nice and light and fun to play. Lipstick pickup and flat wound strings.
And a parts bass I put together for a friend. The neck was a cheap one that I did a lot of repair learning on it like how to dress frets, headstock shaping, and I even shaped the neck profile to V shape.
And lastly was a jazz body that got a Tele neck installed. Ended up going to a kid who was looking to get his first "real" bass!
One more project on tap: replace the neck on my Squier SCPB with a roasted jazz. Will post pics once done!

Finally got motivation, and the energy, to do some work on the Larch slab bodies 
Piezo model got walnut veneer front and back through the week. Trimmed the overhang last night then today it was neck/bridge fitting. Next I'll be tidying up any loose veneer prior to wax and polish
Question then is how do I adorn it ? At present it's an awful plain looking bass which I don't think an f-hole and 51 control plate will alter much
Tried a Cabronita PG on for size, not convinced 
Plus it shows off the PP job I made of the top veneer 
Also have this pearloid PG I roughed out from a blank
Toying with cutting another from black 3 ply. Rotosound strings will get swapped for black tapes, they were just what was handy

My pine body 50's Squier got a little bit of a makeover and now sports a rattle can black body with no pickguard and a generic roasted maple jazz neck. Still using the original pickup but I did replace the pots with full size CTS and an orange drop cap. Streamlined, simple, and fun to play.
Gotoh bridge and a set of round wound strings. I tried flats on it but I'm liking the rounds for a bit more aggressive sound.

Finally got around to putting this together today. Some discrepancy between the bought scratchplate and my body template so I'll be cutting another from a blank The custom spaced and wound pickups got from Martin Harmer work great, well worth the £120 outlay
