There's part of me that wishes it all came from the family basement, but the flooring on the pickguard is the only bit that actually did. I had to drive around town during our annual junk day to find the carpet which was not so easy to find in 1997.

Don't know about ugly but IMHO my Lakland Duck Dunn has much character.
If I had one of these, I'd stick a hammer & sickle logo on it and call it Ivan.

Thanks. I don't know why, but I always enjoyed the racing stripes on the Fender Mustangs. I just had to do it myself.

Here is my brice HXB-406.
Here are the things that I did to it in 3 weeks:
- defretted it
- Coated the bass in poly
- Switched out and rewired the electronics
- repainted and changed the shape of the bass (ever so slightly)
- Glued and bolted the neck in.
- Added straplocks.

I just tossed together a bass with character. I bought a messed up Ibanez GSR205 (I think). I brought it out to a gig last Friday. We provided "atmosphere" during a poetry reading. Someone made up a quick haiku about it, and a little old lady had to take a picture with it! I'll post up pictures in the next day or two.
