i heard paul booth has a waiting list like 3 years longs or something and minimum for a session is 3 hours...at $300 an hour. I don't know if its true though.

The only thing i get annoyed with my artist is that whenever i go in to get some work done he always wants me to come in the next day...well, pretty much everyday and get work done! For one, i don't have that kind of money. I mean, he cuts me deals...REALY good deals, plus i'm sorry, maybe i'm a wuss but i just can't take 4 hours or back work a day. then he gets like frustrated with me and thinks i don't want to get tattooed anymore because i don't get work done for 3 or 4 weeks.

haha, i haven't checked it out. I'm not a big fan of his work, just not my style of art. From the pictures i've seen (which were probably old) he looked like a "unique" dude, haha.

As it is, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to keep this, and just turn it into something else. This was more of an experiment, really. Just needed to see if I could handle the needle. Good news is, I can, and thusly plan to get many more. And from better artists.

Plus, it was free. Hard to beat free.

You should of just gotten a small star those are easy to cover up. And remember free isn't always good. I am lucky enough to have 2 really good friends that are great tattoo arrtists. That free tattoo is going to cost a lot to have covered up by someone good or even more to have laser removed.

No, no, I've been planning on tattoos since I was 9 years old (when I saw the Undertaker on TV, I knew I needed them. Go figure).

This was an experiment in the sense that I chose a design and color that would easily be modified later if the process (getting the ink, healing, what it would look like in 6 months, etc) was not, despite my research, what I thought it would be like.

So, I chose a design, and a place, that would be "correctable" (especially since ink spreads), or modifiable in the longer run.

I am, and have been, a fan of simple, large black tattoos (examples below). Blacking out a whole arm, that sort of thing. So, a cover up is a relative term. Or blacking out the tattoo, and doing the stars in white. Coverups or not, I think these are great tattoos. So, when I got this design, in this place, I kept in mind that actually having a static image on me, no matter what I've been thinking, might not be what I though. So I decided to go with something sort of malleable. If in a year, it's still what I want, then it's what I got. If in three years, I hate it, I can do something else.

However, this won't apply to all my tattoos. I intend to wrangle some from Yann David, and those will be one shots. Just ones like this.

I have zero problem with evolving tattoos, not a collection of one-shot, period, images.

the only thing your pretty much gonna be able to do with that is blackout the stars. from what i've seen white seems to fall out very easily. so basically you just want black squars with the occasional skin tone and something thats sort of like tribal. well, good luck making that one work with whatever else you get, i still can't believe someone got a tattoo to test themselves to see if they could "handle the needle." i know a few people (including my brother) that got back pieces for their first tattoo without testing themselves. i wouldn't tell to many people you got it to test yourself, unless you want to get made fun of a lot.

I actually like those kind of tattoos as well, if I ever get one, it's one of monolythic designs.

Would it heal slowly and awkwardly, or would I heal pretty quickly? Would it mean I needed to get them only when I had a few days before I had to do anything, or could I get one in the evening, and work the next day, and if pants would rub off the scabs, that sort of thing.

When I say handle the needle, I mean the whole process, not just the pain aspect. This tattoo is a test, it's a first to see how I want to go about the rest. It's not like a "am I man enough?" or anything.

Does getting a big block of black limit what I can do with it? Yes, but frankly, I'm not entirely concerned. Most tattoos limit what you can do to them in some way or another, this one's limitation is that it's a block of black. So I work with that.

I'm just looking at it from a more analytical perspective, I suppose.

Road Ready 4x10. It's an older one, which apparently means it's loaded with the EV oem speakers. This is a good thing, as I'm to understand.

wearing clothes over a healing tattoo won't affect it that much. you can still take good care of it.

I thought earlier you said that as it you you thought you were going to do something different with it? and didn't you just get it also? And you already changed your mind about it? i don't know, i just think your complicating things alot, that how it seems to me. i'm sure you know whats going on, i'm just going by what i've read from you post and i'm just confused by the logic i guess.
