Well, I had my tattoo session today.

It was an 5 hour session and he was able to complete the tattoo.

I won't post a pic until after a couple of weeks when it has healed.
The skin is a bit red now and a good part of the shading will be about 30% lighter in a couple of weeks creating more contrast.

So, until then..... :)

Well, I won't post a pic just yet, the tattoo will soon start to scab, the skin is still a bit red and some of the shading has some days until it starts to go a bit lighter.

But I will post this pic that the tattoo artist sent me.
I just told him what I wanted (the mountains and the phoenix rising up behind them) and he drew it all out for me.

Of course there is no shading in this stencil, you will just have to wait to see the real thing until it has healed.
B.t.w. the tattoo is black&gray. I did not want colors.

OK, I'll give in, I just snapped this pic.

The skin is still a bit red as I was inked yesterday. The shading on the phoenix will get lighter over the next couple of weeks so the contrast between it and the background will increase.

5 Hours, whew. That's a loooooong sitting session. Hopefully you got a couple breaks to stretch out a bit. :p

Yeah, I got a couple of breaks when the tattoo artist went for a smoke break. :) But I was happy that he was able to finish it in just one session.

Now I have plans about redoing my old tattoo and adding some flavor to it :ninja:

I guess I have the ink fever now!

My microphone tattoo (posted on the last page) was 4 and a half hours and I thought I was going to die by the end. Tattoos are just as addictive as heroin and just as expensive.

Hehe :) I admit that my skin was a bit tender after 3-3 1/2 hours but it was okay...

Yup, tattoos are very addictive. My plan was originally to get this tattoo and be done with it..... I've changed my mind now :ninja:

Indeed. Once you get one you can't stop thinking about what the next one will be.

Luckily tattoo fixes satisfy the urge for a lot longer period of time. :p

That microphone tattoo is awesome. The artist really brought out the metallic look to it. It's some great work.

Thanks a lot man. It took me a while to convince him to do it all gray scale (yes, that is all gray scale), he wanted to do use blue for the chrome look, but I said no. He now loves that tattoo. He is a fantastic artist, but I am going to have his apprentice start working on me.
