Got colored in yesterday. This is less than 24 hours old, apologies for the crappy cell phone shot.

four hours straight of intricate line work and filling with colors notorious for not sticking very well. i've had 2 touchups already and it could still use another. but it was done very well, i've had it 6 years and there's no signs of smudging out or anything yet.

taken from the original tolkien illustration. it will be part of a lord of the rings chest piece once i get the cash freed up. most of the images will be minor reworkings of tolkien's original art for the two towers with some mt. doom action going on in the background.

but the next tattoo i get will be the adopted einstuerzende neubauten logo [which can be assigned many meanings, some i like more than others, and i've got some of my own]. the 'eye' of the tattoo will be the inside of my elbow [which has a name i'm not going to loook up], it will cover a tattoo already there now, and the 'body' of the image will be upside down, going up my bicep.

i'm a fan of skin art. i'll have a full suit by the time i'm 50 or 60. if i make it that long.

The JOKER! Isn't this the craziest thing you've ever seen? I'm wicked happy with it, the scar in his smile looks absolutely real! I got this done sunday at the mass tattoo and arts festival. It took four hours, considering it was done at convention, that's pretty good.

Here's my artist, Evan Olin's website.

He's from Baltimore and speciaizes in realistic horror. Lemme know what you think!

not to be overly defensive or anything, but have you given any thought to the reason you think 'prison' when you see a large, monochromatic tattoo and not something like 'dedication'? a gut reaction of stigma and fear isn't a gut reaction, it's something learned.

yes, I watch alot of those prison documentaries on Nat Geo. You see quite alot of those. Sorry if I offended anybody.

I am starting to think of how to do the rest of the leg, the next part is going to be a tree, but I just don't know how everything is going to fit together yet. I am getting his apprentice to design the next part and the apprentice will probably do some of the last work on it. Apprentice is a friend of mine, 16 and a year into his apprenticeship, drawings getting better daily and going to be famous someday.

lowsound
the detail on that is AWESOME! I love it!
