ok so heres the deal. I sent out PMS to the mods with no replys around the board. So im going to put this here for now, since this is the spot i frequent the most, and then as it grows we can move it into hot deals, with the mods blessings of course.

Everybody post links to your local music shop. I think this is a sick idea because ive found that these places have the best deals on equipment including effects pedals. For instance, i found a BMS in northhampton,mass...150 bucks, no kiddin. SO go ahead and post your local music stores links.

I think it would be cooler if the links to the local music stores contained their location in the post. That way if you're going through the list, and you see one that is within driving distance, you can then go check it out. I found a couple of great music stores in my area through this forum that I otherwise wouldn't have known about.

New hand-made, commercial, and sometimes rare stuff. One of the very best shops in town all around. The guy knows his stuff and the "atmosphere" is very pleasant in a.....well, you'd have stop in to see in what way......Usually a lot of laughs(at least).

Invalid Link Removed is a really nice independent that stocks some nice stuff including G&L, although they definitely lean a little heavy towards acoustics IMO.

I have walked into http://www.bassalone.com/ but didn't buy or play with anything. They were not as inviting as most music retailers...

Their website is a pain to work with, but you can order the gear from their shops through it. It used to be easier, although it has always been difficult to figure out what they have, since they don't have a consistent labeling system. If you want to buy from them, it's definitely best to visit one of their storefronts - the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

I love their shop in Berkeley - great selection of popular and "boutique" strings and pedals. I don't know of anywhere else locally that carries such a wide selection of EHX XO and Nano, Z.Vex, Death By Audio, Keeley, and other less "well known" brands and hard to find pedals. Heck, they even sell pedals made by local effects builders - provided that they approve of the way it sounds (you have to build something good if you want to earn a place under the glass ;)).

Plus, their used pedal selection's pretty cool, too. I've seen a ton of rare Boss, Ross, and EHX pedals in there over the past few years.
