I am on a 768 DSL, running a AMD 2400 with 1GB of RAM, and it crashed IE on my machine.

I've gone a little crazy over the past couple of months w/ effects. I've bought, sold, traded, swindled, and schemed. I've finally settled down. At least for a week or two.

Bass>Tuner>Zvex Wooly Mammoth>Fulltone Bass-Drive>Sansamp programmable>Amp

Bass pod just there for aesthetics...not part of my live setup.

Currently obsessing over an analog delay...perhaps EHX's Memory man, anyone have any experience with these??

I couldnt hold off on this thread anymore (i look at it religiously)...I am still building up the board, and its a bit of a mess right now (next on my list is some george l's cable kits) so i don't have a picture...ill post one up in a couple months when everything is finished, its like 80% done right now...but heres what my signal path will be

bass->boss tu-2->custom loooper signal splitter
splitter path A: hao rust ride->dunlop bass wah->amp1
splitter path B: hbe big d (possibly changing to 80's marshall guvnor)->dunlop bass wah->amp2
splitter dry out->custom loooper 3 loop
loop 1: vintage ehx electric mistress (not the deluxe)
loop 2: boss blues driver->emma discumbobulator
loop 3: boss ceb 3->prunes and custard
loooper out->roland ap-2->ibanez fl301 dx->boss pn 2->amp3

I felt inspired by Timmy C's setup while i was working my overtdrive situation out, i enjoy the sound i get using the 3 amp setup for my different levels of overdrive while maintaining a clean bottom end, but i still had to keep all my modulation, so i stuck them in the "dry" output of the splitter...loops 2 and 3 on the loooper also have dry blend dials...it works wonderfully...im just waiting on the funds to build my signal splitter and buy the flangers (i may hold off on the ibanez for a while though) and tremolo (being a broke college student isnt much fun), but once i finish the board and wire it up w/ some george l's cable kits, i'll snap a picture and post it up

Good question.

Honestly, I havent used it that much. I picked it up last week used. So, I haven't had too much time to get familiar with it. Seems like there are some cool preset effects. And a bunch that I will probably never use. This weekend I'm going to spend some time tweaking...I'll let you know after.

Anyone else familiar with the bass pod...pros/cons? Is there a footswitch available for it?

If that's the 1st generation POD, not the PODxt, you have two footswitch options available, the FBV Shortboard, IIRC is a 4 button dealy that allows you some minimal control...or the Floorboard which has a built-in wah, volume, tuner, etc. It's pretty cool.

Otherwise, you can use a standard MIDI foot controller (MidiBuddy, etc.) for simple patch change control.

im teh exact same way, i just made two boards for my pedals, one small one that will hold 4 pedals and a power supply (most likely a Dunlop DC brick) and a bigger one that will hold all of my pedals for full out madness!

for my gigging board ive got,

Boss TU-2
Fulltone Bassdrive
Dano Cool Cat Chorus 18v
(gonna add an EHX Small Stone very soon)

my full board has:
Boss TU-2 into a homemade looper
(Looper loop - Russian EHX Big Muff into Morley Power Wah Boost)
Fulltone Bassdrive
EHX Bassballs
EHX Small stone
Dano Cool Cat

and theres a amp function switcher on there too

ill get pics when i can afford to buy the cables needed to wire it up :)

I've never owned a multi-effects unit. If i wanted to incorporate this into my chain, where would it work best? Would it depend on which effects i'm using from it?

Bass>Tuner>Zvex Wooly Mammoth>Fulltone Bass-Drive>Sansamp programmable>Amp

I hope I'm not going to burst your bubble, but the POD works best as an all-in-one preamp/fx unit before a power amp. Anywhere in an effects signal chain or before a bass amp (with pre/power section), will not really show the true purpose and potential of the POD.

If you were to use it as simply an effects box, there are others out there that have much more flexibility and options than the POD, but your needs may be different. Since it has some delays in it and compression, I'd say it should go last in your chain, but you may find the signal from your Zvex and BDDI are overdriving the POD input.

I've been modifying my guitar player's pedal pad and thought it may be good entry for this thread..seeing as I've learned so much from it!
I hardwired a AC locking Furman strip and a tube buffered power supply via a VHT Valvulator hardwired to locking Neutrik jacks mounted on the outside of the box for easy connections...also made a custom AC power hook-up cable...and just started to mount the pedals last night.
