Yeah don't buy it they're crap mine is actually filled with sand, looks good on the board though don't it.

The coolcat btw is the old 18v nicest chorus I've ever tried

I have never tried the 18 volt model. Mine is the 9.6 volt model, and it works really well. If the 18 volt is better, I would like to try one out. Mine sounds better than every chorus unit I have tried at any price, and I only paid $30 for it, shipped.

TBH I don't think I've tried the 9v one or at least not for a while but I have tried other chorus's and sush and I don't like the effect to be honest it just sounded soooooo 80's but the cool cat is sooooo lush and analog sounding

Love the Sparkle Drive! it's not known for being a bassist's overdrive pedal and is somewhat of a "sleeper". I tried alot of pedals and bought a Blue Tube 902 and an EBS Multidrive; they just didn't work for me. I had just about lost all faith of finding something that would work for me and was on the verge of hiring a local Franken-pedal-meister to make a custom pedal for me. I told him that I'd pay him for his time and that I wanted an overdrive pedal where I wouldn't lose any bottom and could the blend overdrive signal with a clean signal. He told me me to just buy a Sparkle Drive. As soon as I tried it, I knew that it was the one that I was looking for. The four controls enable me to adjust the amount of overdrive, adjust tone, blend the clean and overdrive signals as desired (or just run the overdrive signal alone), and adjust the overall level of the pedal's output. Thus, you can get sounds ranging from a subtle overdrive to a full-on overdrive, all with no loss of bottom.

After that long paragraph, don't get me wrong, I'm no "overdrive freak". I use it only sparingly for solos now and then.

Its actualy MMFX (Morgan Miller FX)... He was the first builder to offer true bypass boxes... As well as a few effects... Unfortionatly, he dosn't make them anymore (but he wasn't that good anyway, he was a horible solder'r). His TB boxes are ace, but his pedals where train wreck...

I've owned my MMFX bypass pedal for 3+ years and it seems to work fine with no degradation in tone or shorting problems. If I wanted to replace it with a better bypass pedal, what would your suggestion be? Thanks!

See a monkey could solder a true bypass box... There is no circuit, just a switch, 4 jacks, a LED, and power leads. There is really nothing to go wrong, other than with a distortion or compressor pedal (with dozens of finicky components. If you felt the need to replace it Dave @ www.loooper.com is the man... I own several of his creations, all of which are constructed top notch!

Here's mine: bass>1st loop on board>SABDDI>Mini Q Tron>amp------

The other pedals go into the effects loop on my amp and are: Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah>Boss PH-3 Phase Shifter>Digitech Bass Multi-Chorus-(second output goes to Korg GA 30 tuner)>Boss DD-5 Digital Delay.

I keep going back and forth with my amp's footswitch, which lets me switch out the effects in the second loop with a single stomp. It's not in the pic, but it's usually where the tuner is.

You know what ? That's what I'm doing with mine. It will be an active, unity gain, parallel dry loop, with volume pot. I'll also put a true bypass. Then, I won't need the LS-2 to do this anymore, and I would use it other ways.

I'm waiting for a bass whammy.

I'm quite happy with this, but I want more. A bass synth would be great, an overdrive too.

The tuner will not stay here, I need it in my gigbag.

That's a pretty drastic EQ setting you got there! What is that, 1/2 db boost at 250 hz?

It really wouldnt be that tough to change it. I could just redrill a hole or two and re-do the layer of canvas to cover the old ones.

I play with the EQ settings alot. Sometimes it will be a bassifier for reggae sounds and other times a mid boost for enhancing certain synth parts in songs. It's set to "damn I lost my old setting so Ill just put them all to 0 " setting.

The outside case is a RoadReady CCFX16 mixer case for the Mackie mixer that that goes by that name, and the cables are George L's and Visual Sound power supplies and splitters.

I built the 3 tier board inside, routed out channels for the wirring and routed the pannels with chambers to lighten it all. I did all the wirring, and covered it in a green canvas material I found at a fabric store after I realized that getting sheets of velcro wasnt easy. I then glued and stapled velcro to the board. Those black straps you see hanging off the side of the board make it possible to easily remove the board from the case if I choose to, but I really dont need to as I can reach everything inside alright.

Not completely from scratch, but Im still proud.
