So...for those of you playing in bands, who actually uses every pedal that you own on at least one song in your set-list per night?
I've had chorus, delay, flanging, distortion, a wah, and a digitech whammy pedal. All the pedals I've owned have been sold off or taken back to the store because I just can't find a use for them. I love some of the settings I came up with and most of the pedals were great, but I could never quite figure out where to throw 'em in during the song.

I am looking to ditch the Boss Flange and Boss Bass Overdrive for a Delay and a EH Metal Muff with the low scoop. The Bass Overdrive just does not have a warm tone to it that I am hearing in my head that I need. The Metal Muff has a EQ system on it so that I could dial it in if needed. Any suggestions on a good delay or distortion in the $50-$150 range, let me know.
I used to own a digitech digidelay ($100) and loved it...I can't actually remember what made me get rid of it...I'm in the market for a delay again and will prolly go with a boss one.
As far as distortion, theres tons of good ones in that price range...if u want something warm, i suggest the homebrew electonics hematoma bass overdrive ($150)...smooth, subtle, and warm all the way up to nasty biting distortion and no loss of low end whatsoever...plus its got a footswitchable boost on it.
Hows that polyphase sound? have any sound clips?
Is that one of those Gator brand pedalboards? I like the design idea and i need a small one, but how sturdy are they? would u be scared to stomp on it? i'd really appreciate a review...
Delay- Danelectro Wasabi Delay (has tap tempo and for the price and features, the best I have come across)
Distortion- The Metal Muff is very- well "metally" with single notes but has the smoothest distortion for chords. So it is maybe or maybe not what you are looking for. I love it, but would never rely on it as my only distortion.

Yup. I've always used every pedal on my board. Otherwise I wouldn't have it.
And Yep, I'd reccomend the Little Big Muff and Crowther Hotcake XLF for fuzz and distortion respectively. Both are under $150.
For delay under $150, I'd recommend Line 6 Echo Park first (if you get one before the end of the month, Line 6 will give you a free effects module too). For $20 more, you can grab a DD-20, which is what I use. It's amazing.
Of course there are cheaper alternatives, but they aren't worth it. Kidding. I've heard good things about the Guyatone MD-3 too.

i have two pedals on my board that i don't use regularly: maxon AF9 filter, and CoPilotFX Android ring mod. i don't use the filter because we haven't written a song yet that warrants it. same with the ring mod.
but i use my compressor, octaver, overdrive, distortion, and phaser all the time. but i like having some different options available, y'know? who knows... maybe i'll kick on a ring mod and come up with a sweet, weird riff... don't laugh, it could happen.

The smaller one is just a triple looper with 3 seperate effect loops.
The bigger one is double looper with some addons like option to choose on of two plugged guitars and possiblity to use either sansamp or amp preamp as active preamp.

i built me a new board... but i don't have any pedals on it at the moment cuz i didn't bring them home from university.

I wouldn't mind having an EBS OctaBass if I have leftover money after my purchase of a new bass. If I buy a new bass.
Alright. I'm looking at building a pedal board. I'm wanting a nice chorus that can be subtle to really thick (I've been recommended the Digitech). I want a good OctaveDivider, and a reverb. I was looking at the EBS pedals for the Octave and Reverb, but they are pricey (especially the reverb at $260). I was also looking at the EBS BassIQ envelope filter, but that's not a priority since I have a Dunlop Bass Wah. I also want a EHX Small Stone (regular or Nano?). Suggestions are welcome.
The OctaBass is pretty good - not outstanding, but it's the best octave I've tried so far. I play a five string that I tune EADGC so the octave gives me a bit more low range.
