Post Your Pedalboard - Part III

Ya know what I don't like about my pedalboard? The fact that 1) I can't decide if I'm going to leave the Boss Acoustic simulator on there or not (I use it as a bass boost; all it does is add lows) and 2) What order I'm going to put them in. Then I have to figure out settings and all sorts of stuff. Driving me nuts. I have a picture, just can't get it off of the camera at the moment. I'll try to figure out a way to get the picture from the camera.

Im sketchin up my board @ the moment.. Realy need to check all the costs.. just the patchcables will end up ruining me as Ive setteled on george l's..

Still missing is the EHX Fuzz (maby itll be the little big muff instead..) DI and Tuner..

Started building my own AB box and Loop-strip.. Also rebuilding an old Chorus of mine.. Making it more like the Moollon chorus with a big "Rate" knob acceable to use with your foot..

Will install this in an ordenary hardcase..

Ill post pics when I get it built and set up..

Really nice looking board.
But be careful not to make it too deep because it becomes kind of tricky to access the furthest pedals while playing.
I would try to stick with just 2 rows of pedals. just my opinion!

Are you going to have your pedalboard in plain wood or are you going to use some 2*4/ rail design?
I mean are you going to have empty rails to run your cables instead of drilling a single hole for each cable.

I found really usefull the concept of empty rail. It's as clean as the 1 hole/cable and gives you flexibility if you want to move, add stuff.

How's that Boss accoustic simulator on bass? Got any soundclips of it?

It's always interested me, but I could never hear that huge of a difference playing with it at GC... It'd be cool to hear about it from an actual user, though

I use it only to add low end. Bass. That's it. However, I can add an acoustic-y sound to it, but it doesn't sound that convincing. I would post clips, but I don't have an interface to record with right now. I am getting one in next week (hopefully) or very soon the following week. I will post clips then.

My desk is clean.

That's my work bench. The sole purpose of the piece of furniture is for bass and guitar repair and maintenance. I do need to clean it though.

here's my latest effort:



I built it into the lid of this silver case I had lying around (I just took the hinges off and replaced them with more latches, and also put a sheet of plack rubber in under the pedals to hide the power supply cables etc).
In the other half of the case I have mounted a small canvas bag that can carry my spare cables, mic, power supply, etc.

Signal chain is as follows:

Rolls A/B ('B'to tuner) > Boss RCL-10 Compressor > SABDDI > Boss PQB-3 > Digitech XBSW > EBS Unichorus > Amp

I also have my amp footswitch on there.

My plan is to eventually replace the RCL-10 with a pedal compressor (probably to EBS) so that I can sit the tuner on the bottom level (it travels in my bass case so it doesn't sit up there all the time lol).

How did you get that PP2 to power your Q-tron? Does it?? My Q-tron runs on 24v.. Thats why im gonna use regular adapters inside my board..

In ACA mode, the Pedal Power's outlets provide 12.2V (read the analogman's page about the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power for more information : http://analogman.com/voodoo.htm )
I use this custom Y cable made of two classic pedal power cable with the Q-tron power supply connector.

So I can run my Q-Tron trough the pedal power like any other pedal.

Is it just me, or does the BDDI always add a bit of distortion to your sound (even when the drive is all the way turned down)?

I got a new "old" pedal today, a Trace Elliot SMX Dual Band Compresor. My god this thing kicks grass. Any way my effects line goes
Boss CE-5=>Modded Morley Pro Wah=>Trace Elliot SMX Dual Compressor

Well, compared to the old behringer 1RU compressor I used to have it is awesome lol.
I really notice it adding a bit more 'oomph' to the d and g strings on my stingray.

however IMHO the noise gate leaves a bit to be desired

and yes, my unique little collection took some finding!

Not pictured is a rackmounted dbx compressor, which I could insert anywhere in the chain, so I'll have to experiment and see what I like.
