what is a submarine?

it's a little tone-shaper/preamp. it doesn't provide any boost (only cut), but it changes your sound, making it smooth and rich like R&B. i've found it to be extremely useful after the overdrives in my VFB2 blended loop. it makes these richer and more bassy.

Ah, that sounds like a pain. Anyways, now I need to sell my Weeping Demon to afford the LBM.

The miaudio fuzz pedals have the same issue, so you have to either use them with separate adapter or use one with isolated output ala voodoo labs pp ii

The LBM is fine, as is everything in the EHX Nano and XO lines EXCEPT the Nano Muff and Nano Clone.

The jacks, from what I understand, are still center-negative on those two. It's the internal grounding design that's the issue... something about it being reversed. The Nano Clone gets bad ratings for bass anyway, but the Nano Muff does sound good... so if you plan on getting one, use a power supply with isolated outputs (like the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2).

Ah, sweet, Nano Muffs wouldn't be used by me anyways (LBM) and I'm not huge on chorus (Although the vibrato function on the Clone Theory is cool)

My signal chain is
Spector Performer > Danelectro Daddy-O (Modded) > Digitech Bass Synth Wah > Digitech Whammy > Ibanez Chorus/Flanger > DOD Delay/Sampler > Peavey TNT 115

The Chorus/Flanger is pretty useless and not good sounding, so I'm thinking about replacing it soon, with a compressor maybe.

I scraped all of them for a new "top-of-the-line" pedal board. I started with the Korg. I think that is the best pedal tuner available.

how does the whammy do on bass?

The Whammy works quite well on bass. Only very minimal tracking issues when doing the most extreme pitch-shifting, and the harmonizing modes sound wonderful. A great pedal for bass, for sure

Do a search on the Whammy 4, it'll turn up a lot of information for you! It's been discussed hundreds of times...

yes, i do realise my effects are worth more than my bass and amp combined.. that will be rectified someday. i hope.

rather beginner effects setup for.. well, a beginner (1 year). hope to add a tuner, another distortion/overdrive, whammy and compressor to that in the semi-near future.

may as well ask here. what's a good overdrive/distortion pedal for a non fuzzy, crunchy type distortion? such as nine inch nail's "Only" main bass riff, or the interlude to Tool's "Vicarious" (from about 3:24 in the song)?

(1) There are a lot of distortion threads already, check them out. (2) I would recommend posting a new thread with links to MP3s or Youtube clips featuring the sound you want, and asking something like "what pedal will get me close to this sound?" You'll get better results with those two steps than you will by asking in the "show your board" thread.

I have been GASing over the TF analogue filter. I was going to email Brad about making a one in a blue box instead of red. My first goal is a amp, then a compressor. After than I'll start looking at stuff like the TF Analogue filter.

I bought the Dano modded, but apparently, the op-amp was switched to a JRC 2041, the eq frequency sweep was increased and the hard clipping diodes were removed. I compared it to a stock pedal and it sounds a lot more tube-like and smoother. As soon as I got it I put my ODB-3 away.

And the Whammy is awesome. The harmonies sound great, especially with an overdrive in front of it. It really lets me nail a fake rhythm guitar sound while my band looks for a guitarist, and even chords sound pretty good on the octave up harmony.
