Cool Moog stuff, Bart.



So, I'm thinking of adding a small distortion to my effects, so I can leave it at school to use during my 7th period music class... figure this is a good as place as any:

Suggestions?

I was thinking since I love the Metal Muff oh so very much, to go with a Pocket Metal Muff, but... that's like, spending 60 bucks on a pedal I already have at home... in a bigger/better version.

actually, that's not fair. i haven't heard a bass through it yet. i heard some kid playing an EVH charvel through it and a marshall full stack. that sounded like poo.

Damn... I was hoping by the time I get the funds for the ATK 305 I'll be able to try out the Pocket Metal Muff too (As well as a nano bassballs... and dr. q... and ALL of them! haha)

Actually, last time I was over it seemed like the Nano display was messed with... only the Dr. Q (that's the autowah, right?) would turn on. It was pretty weird, it seemed none of them had battery/were connected properly, but if that was the case the sound wouldn't even go through, wouldn't it?

Anyways, I'm not a huge fan of EVH, Charvels, Marshalls, or random kids playing full stacks at GC... so... we'll see. But yeah, I do think the Pocket Metal Muff would be kinda weird, seeing as how the real Metal Muff reacts so differently with EQ teaks. It's not a matter of scooped mids... even changing the bass & treble knob in the slight direction one way gives it a total different sound.

Maybe LBM will be the one I take to school, which I can use an excuse to buy an LBM, then just stick it on my floor-board (haha, I made a pun) on weekends or something.



edit: On an unrelated note, when I was there last I tried out the HOG... sure it was through a guitar, which I'm nowhere near adept at (well, not so much with bass either, but I can fake it okay ) and the HOG was amazing. Totally cool sounds attainable with each move of a slider, and those extra effects packed onto it (like the freeze-glide) are just NUTS!

the nano EH display is a little screwy on account of the weirdness concerning EH nanos and daisy chain power supplies. the peeps are working on it!

the LBM is mighty nice, and small enough, i think! a great buy!

the HOG.... i've heard not-so-good things for bass. but i have yet to test...

What's the weirdness, exactly? I've had no trouble with my Nano Small Stone, thankfully.

The LBM is okay in terms of daisy-chaining too, right?

And the HOG, while it sounded cool, is probably too much... if I ever wanted to go really crazy effect I'd rather go POG.

Although after the LBM I'll probably end up going for a whammy. Those things are just cool.

Hey...I'm relatively new to TB. I've been reading for a few months. Thanks to the reviews and recommendations I've read here, I'm pretty happy with what I've put together here. This is the last picture I have of my board.

Signal Chain: Ibanez ASB140 --> BBE Opto Stomp (not in this picture) --> Homemade Loop Switch ((A) TU-2 ) ((B) Ibanez TS9 modified & on a TBP switch --> EHX English Muff'n) --> EXH Clone Theory -->Ampeg SVT-IV Pro --> GK 410BLX

I use the Muff'n 90% the time for grit and boost, the Opto Stomp stays on all the time too. I have the TS9 set as thick overdrive. The whole board gets packed into an old tweed suitcase for gigs.

I'll likely put it where the pedal power is and put the pedal power underneath it. It doesn't seem like it is on an incline in the pic, but there's enough room underneath the board for the pedal power under it.

the weirdness has to do (i think) with positive-center vs. negative-center. basically, if you put a whole chain of nanos together and daisychain them, one of them (i've forgotten which ones do this, exactly) will stubbornly not power up. not only that, it will also cut the rest of your chain's power! it's annoying, to say the least, and EH (from what i understand) is working on a solution.

i'm not sure about the LBM...
