No mods with mine, but I don't have many problems with noice either.
There's a big problem to make a true bybass for it when you use active basses. The Microsynth has a trimpot on the backside for the volume, when you use active basses the signal will distort so you have to turn it down, this trimpots effects both the signal when the pedal is "on" as the signal when the pedal is "off". When you would modd it to true bypass, the trim pot wouln't effect your signal in the off mode anymore so the off signal would be a lot louder as the on signal...With passive basses this won't be a problem cause you don't have to turn down the trimpot.

I like mine a lot although in the beginning it wasn't easy to get the right sounds i was looking for.

...oy... I forgot about that clip. No, you don't need the SansAmp at all! Heck, I got rid of mine a LONG time ago!

However, the Power Wah isn't like a typical bass wah. It has no low pass filter, so it sweeps through EVERYTHING. It's also not a switchless wah. You will need to bring up the Boost knob (it's the only thing even close to a Level control on this pedal), but it sounds awesome and has plenty of low end in each sweep. Run distortion into it, and it SCREAMS!

I'll try to get a solo recording with distortion this week if I can... I'm a bit overwhelmed with school projects at the moment.

For me, I set the Boost to about 1:00, for a solo-appropriate gain boost, and an intense distorted solo.

so considering both of my basses are active, that means ill have to fiddle with the trip pot as needed?

would a true bypass looper be effective?
