Post Your Pedalboard - Part III

Added the old school FX25 & the DigiDelay plus a reorganization was due (& managed to fit my D.I. aboard). Sending the DOD 250 & The DS-1 off to mod camp in a couple days. The 250's already grey spec but damn, that old girl needs a green LED bad.

Night shots to come after the mods, even though the Sub alone causes retinal damage.

I always kind of GAS for a Rocktron Chorus, but they're just so damn big.

I GAS for the rocktron hypnotic flange, but it's not TBP and I've heard their buffer isn't too great.

Whats the difference between the reissue yellow 250 and the grey spec one? Any better on bass?

Had mine for a while and its jsut screaming for a few mods!

Trust me, Rocktrons don't need true bypass. Not many pedals do, IMO.

Really couldn't tell ya since I've never tried the reissue. It was love at 1st try. That's all I can say, really. The only reason I'm sending it for mods is for an LED which in turn, I've been told by different sources, needs a true bypass switch to accomodate the light.

I have the Flange and you wouldn't even know it's not True bypass. All of their pedals have a great bypass system IMO.

And while we're asking, any chance of a pic of the loop/blend box's insides? I wanted to do something similar in layout but wasn't sure I'd be able to fit it all in...

It's not a loop blend box, It's only got an input and an output. If you look carefully the 4 apparent jacks actually are the output of the Multi-Comp and input of the Kelu Box. I would have thought it to be a Phase 90 clone or something.

Hey MysticBoo, how's the MultiComp post-LBM? What settings are you running on the EBS and do you use both at the same time? BTW, what patch cables are you using and how did you get your board looking so neat?

Almost all light but really strong alluminium and it's really built like a tank!!!

The Multicomp actually sounds great post-LBM. Smooths it out a bit, and if I use Tubesim mode, I change its character so that it sounds more like it's running through a tube preamp. I leave my Multicomp on all the time right now.

Another perk of having the Multicomp near the end of the chain is that it does a great job of keeping the Power Wah + Little Big Muff solo tone under control (it can be harsh and powerful!) by controlling those volume spikes and softening the highs a bit without screwing up the rest of that tone.

Settings for my LBM and Multicomp are as follows:

Little Big Muff
Sustain: 8:00
Tone: ~9:00 - ~11:00 (lower when I use it with the wah, higher otherwise)

EBS Multicomp
Mode: usually Multiband, sometimes Tubesim
Comp/Limit: 1:00 (I'll probably be rolling it back with further experimentation... not sure yet)
Gain: ~8:00 (unity gain)

The patch cables, BTW, are Planet Waves Cable Station cables, made using the kit you can buy at most music stores. They're durable, reliable, and custom-cut by me

As for the pedalboard, it's a Pedaltrain 2. It allows me to run wires underneath the rails for a cleaner look. If I take a pic of the underside, it's not as pretty, but overall, because of how I've wired and tied it up, it's still pretty neat.
