Anyone have an opinion on the single pedal company addiction i posted about above?

I don't see a problem with it..... heck, I have a bunch of Boss stuff and have generally had very good luck with whatever I've had of theirs. Just try to avoid assuming that it's good or what you're looking for because it has a certain name on it....

Three one-spots and the wall-wart for the MXR flanger, which is 18volt. Two One-Spots power everything else but the Bass Micro Synth, which is on its own One-Spot (which is much smaller and happier than the wall wart it came with). These are all plugged into a Furman SS-6B power strip.

Everything but the Sansamp is in a loop and can be bypassed

The signal chain goes like this... *clears throat* cable into very small loop pedal in lower right corner, then to DOD 250-->Jacques Fat Burner (compressor) --> Boss OC-2 --> Boss DD-3 --> MXR Blue Box --> Little Big Muff --> patchbay box that rrajatski built for me --> Boss tremolo --> XO Bass Micro Synth --> Maxon AF-9 --> Prunes & Custard --> Guyatone TZ-2 (very obnoxious Superfuzz-style fuzz pedal, I love it-- instant Melvins) --> Marshall Guv'nor II --> Bottom Feeder --> Carbon Copy --> MXR Phase 90 --> Nano Bassballs --> MXR Flanger --> Jacques Fat Burner --> tuner --> back into loop and out to Sansamp, and then out to amp and DI.... *gasp gasp wheeze faceplant*

I managed to cram all this stuff into a PT-Pro.

Wah pedal and other stuff that I don't use regularly but still want to use once in a while get plugged into the patchbay box.

I seem to be a big user of either boss, ibanez or subdecay,...

my main reasons are price and versatility,... I mean subdecay noisebox and prometheus,... lose one hour just twiddling knobs
same goes for my boss ps-3 and bf-3... I don't like boss for distortion but for most other products they seem pretty good,...
only thing is they have a small range of far out pedals which is where I seem to be trying to branch out into lately!

like was said, try going for good sound though I guess u will always know companies like boss, mxr etc will make things built like a tank!

True, there is that-- sometimes you just take a liking to some stuff because it's simple, robust, and works..... this is why I'm such a fan of MXR gear lately. IMO the Phase 90 is dang close to perfect-- one knob, one switch. Even I can't screw that up!

Are they taller than your typical enclosure? Are they using surface mounted components?

they are about the same height as a standard enclosure.
I don't think that there is surface-mount but I can't see. It's all on perf board too.

NS2 OUT -> Valcoder -> Carbon Copy -> Amp

The Carbon copy is heaps of fun. It can be nice and subtle but also pretty crazy, especially when combined with the Valcoder

Yeah I noticed there were none on here, I'll try get around to doing some!

Are they taller than your typical enclosure? Are they using surface mounted components?

Yeah like Katri said, about the same height, but I've got mine on some cardboard at the moment to raise it up! The jack isnt as high as the one on the carbon copy, and I had to use that little connector because I ran out of patch leads
