just built the board yesterday at lunch heh. sample mock up of where i might put the pedals. have a midi-murf and at least a modfactor (possibly pitchfactor as well) pending within a month or two...

yeah, it's just painted wood. i love the look of that chrome automotive paint, plus it helps make it more visible under there in low light.

2 questions tho:
1) I know you used to have a Torn's Peaker on the Bongripper board, any reason you took it off? What, if anything, did you replace it with?
2) You ever consider using 2 mono volumes on the Castevet board. Im pretty much gonna do that with my 2 channel setup in the works. Then I can fade 1 or both signals in or out.
1) I used a Torn's Peaker a long while ago only in conjuction with the Freqbox (there are samples of it in the sticky somewhere) I stopped using it because the pedal itself was super noisy and had low end loss...I didn't mind at the time since it was ONLY used when the freqbox was on (evens out the sound in how I use it) I realized I got just as good or an even better sound using my Fuzz or DBA pedal so there was no need to really keep it around, so it's gone.
2) I really wouldn't need two separate volume pedals to cut in the signals individually - more hassle and I try to keep things pretty straightforward in Castevet - Plus it would be more board real estate and another things for kids to jump on and kill my signal in our many basement shows.
I pretty much consider anything that isn't a fuzz an OD, but the gain range on the pedal goes from OD to classic Distortion range...I've got mine set as more of an OD/tubey grit than Distortion, which is why I call it that haha.
Both pedals sound incredible, but each has their own charm...my favorite is the Moog, but I would never get rid of my DMM just because it is a different sound.
The Moog is dark and musical - I can play anything at any setting and it just sounds right...the expression jacks make everything even more tweakable and since it has a full 1.2 seconds of delay time I can even make it sound like pitch shifter which is pretty awesome. Also the external effects loop is incredible (putting my Murf in there was the coolest thing ever, but it takes up too much space) The trem in there makes all sorts of cool sounds, keeps me happy.
The DMM is still dark, but a lot clearer than the Moog, it doesn't sound like a digital delay or anything at all, but the repeats come out a different way...if that makes any sense. Problem with it is that it distorts easy...I dig in on my bass and I'm over driving the circuit...also all those knobs are very sensitive - the slightest turn can mess up your whole sound. But that chorus, good lord, sounds incredible...about a 15-20% turn of that knob and I am in heaven...and I HATE Chorus effects, but on the delay it sounds incredible. Shoegaze heaven. Something about that pedal just makes it incredible.

Castevet is going to record for a new 12" at the beginning of September. and Bongripper is finishing up writing of the long awaited "Satan Worshiping Doom" album...which is still unknown as when we will record and release it...but definitely this year.
