Got some updates to both of my boards since I last posted about 3 threads back I think.

#1 Bongripper Board

The setup goes...

Output A - Moog MF-107 Freqbox > Death By Audio Interstellar Bass Overdriver > Boss RV-5 Stereo Reverb > Loop-Master Splitter > Moog MF-104SD Analog Delay

Output B - Moog MF-101 Low Pass Filter > Custom Fuzz > Boss RV-5 Stereo Reverb > Loop-Master Splitter > Moog MF-104SD Analog Delay

The Catalinbread Semaphore Tremolo is in the external Loop of the Moog Delay. As is there a Pigtronix Expression Pedal that controls the Delay (not pictured)

The purpose of all this is...My bass signal is routed to parallel overdrive and fuzz tones so I can layer them without loosing either, and the Low Pass filter is set to not envelope at all but only boost frequencies below 250Hz - Giving me a consistent and huge low end

The Parallel Fuzz and OD routes are rejoined at the Reverb which acts solely as a buffer to even things out, then both signals are sent to my delay so that all bass signals are even and delayed as well as avoiding the need to input to different amps (even though I use two anyways)

Since the Trem and LPF are always on (trem controlled through switch on Moog Delay) they are mounted on the "wall" since I never really need to step on them on or off...also leaving more room for things I do need.


Board # 2 Castevet

This one is actually already out of date, I thought of a couple things after taking the picture, and the board is back at my practice space so I can't get a new one currently...

Zvex Distortron > Sanford and Sonny Blue Beard Fuzz > Boss FV-500 Stereo Volume Pedal > EHX Deluxe Memory Man (Sonic Research Strobe Tuner is connected via the tuner out on the Boss Volume)

The non-pictured changes are a Barge Concepts RC-3 Compressor next to (before) the Zvex and a Morley AB/Y at the begining of the chain.

Bass is plugged into the Morley...
Signal B goes to all of the effects and is hooked up to my Orange/Emperor 2x15 setup

Signal A goes into one of the stereo inputs on the Volume pedal and then off to the AMP BH420/Bergantino NV610 setup

This way I can mute my bass signal to both amps via the stereo volume pedal, but I have thick clean and punchy bass at all times from the A setup and all my OD/Fuzz/Delay going into my dirtier sounding B setup.

I am forever going to be in bands that use too much gear...it's great

How do you like the distorton on bass, it's similar a box of rock right? (the zvex pedal not the metaphor) a marshall drive channel emulation? Any low end loss?

I took the Zvex Distortron over the Box of Rock (because I'd always hit the boost switch at the wrong time) it also beat out the Fulltone OCD and a Keeley Modded Sparkle Drive.

It's been my favorite OD for bass so far, very natural tube overdrive sound. I really dig it. No low end loss. Unless you want that...then there is a switch that decreases bass...but whats the fun of that?

i'm looking in to a good bass overdrive [not distortion but overdrive] the boss bass OD looks good, i want something more subtle than the muff, any ideas?

What era's the Ibanez chorus from? Never seen an Ibanez pedal like that, looks cool

For a subtle OD, I'd look at bass friendly Tubescreamer clones, the digitech Bad Monkey, the err......Bad Monkey. I'm sure there are others

And the lack of penguins is most depressing. The internet demands Penguins!

i picked it up at local guitar shop for a good price
it was actually my first pedal ever
i will sell it to you for a reasonable price whenever [if ever] my boss gets here

Cool boards (much <3 for Bongripper BTW )

2 questions tho:

1) I know you used to have a Torn's Peaker on the Bongripper board, any reason you took it off? What, if anything, did you replace it with?

2) You ever consider using 2 mono volumes on the Castevet board. Im pretty much gonna do that with my 2 channel setup in the works. Then I can fade 1 or both signals in or out.

but there was a good deal on the Boss chorus that couldnt be missed
