I don't have an actual board right now, I'm waiting to pick up a couple more pedals (I'm thinking a POG and an Eventide Modfactor...) to fill the empty spaces before I build one. I've got an old Digitech softcase that I use to tote the pedals to and from gigs, and I've gotten good at setting them all up in less than two minutes.
Chain order: Bass IQ > Milkbox > Octron > Weeping Demon > Parallel Universe > DT-10 > RE-20

You know Colin is building version 2 right now, right? I'm on his beta testing list; he wants a few people to try out the PU2 and a lo-fi digital delay/looper prototype before he goes into production with them.

It's fan-****ing-tastic. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about it. Pretty much the perfect delay for me.
Can you tell me what it beat out for you as I'm quite a fan of the more lofi digital delays that do holds and occilation and this has me quite tempted.
Wow. We have identical taste in delays. It beat out various Digitech PDS delays (1002, 2000, 8000), Ibanez DDL, Line 6 DL4, Boss DD-3 and DD-6, a much modded and rehoused Danelectro PB&J, and a Dan-Echo.
I don't know how it stacks up against an original Space Echo, and I don't care. It's exactly the delay tone I hear in my head when I think delay. The oscillation is beautiful, and the expression pedal control is a must for me. It trails off on bypass, and if you're crafty with the delay time and repeats, you can get a pretty effective faux-looping effect out of it. I really couldn't be happier with it. The real test will be a full band rehearsal this Tuesday, but I'm confident that it'll sound and perform wonderfully.
Excellent I've got a PDS2000 and am always looking for more also had the DD-3 which was way to digital for me and the Dan-Echo which was nice but just didn't have enough delay time.
Don't suppose you've got any of those PDS's lying around still have you or that PJ&B I tried to get one modded ages ago but the guy was just to backed up.
Also whats the pitch shifting like on the Space Echo and can you control it with the Exp. And finally what's that Exp pedal you've got there it look a lot better built than any I've come across.

How light-sensitive is it really?
I still have the PDS 1002. It was my first delay, and probably my first stompbox, now that I think about it, so it's not going anywhere. The others I've let go.
The pitch shifting on the Space Echo is very smooth. You can control either the Repeat Rate (pitch shifting), Intensity (feedback/oscillation), or both with the expression pedal. You can also set it to control the echo volume. I haven't yet messed with the expression pedal for pitch shifting, but it seems that with my expression pedal (Yamaha FC7), a lot of the range of the adjustment is in the first 10% of the pedal's sweep. Boss suggests using one of their own expression pedals (duh) for best results.
EDIT: I don't know how it came across in the original post, but the Space Echo does not sound like a lo-fi digital delay in any way, shape, or form. It's as clear or as murky as you want it to be. The best descriptor I can think to attach to it is "organic". But not in the dank, what-the-hell-am-I-hearing, analog delay idiom.
It is indeed an E13 PEEP. I'm bouncing back and forth between the Yamaha FC7 and the PEEP to control the RE-20. So far, it has worked well with a Line 6 DL4, a Boss PS5, Boss PS3, Moog Ring Mod, and the RE-20.
It's very light sensitive, but not in a way that renders it difficult to use. It's extremely responsive. The only problem I can see having with it is if you had very specific effects settings that a song is dependent upon. In varying ambient lighting conditions, this could throw off the "minimum" setting of the PEEP. I don't gig with it (yet), but it's great for messing around with at home and recording. Very nifty little gadget.
When gigging this could only be solved by having a fixed light source shining on the PEEP, right (I mean the stagelight can easily interfere with it etc.)?
I remember seeing a board that used an AC>USB adapter connected to a USB hub that used USB-configured LED lights to light the board.
That would be my guess, yeah. I intend to incorporate it into my "permanent" board eventually.
