Post your Rickenbackers!

Here's my '77 Mapleglo 4001. Got her from the old Bass Palace a few years back.
Because she had schaller tuners and a Jazz bass PU in the bridge position, I got her for about $600.
I got a '77 PU from Gregg (Frankensteinberger) (RIP), dropped it in and love playing her.
Strung with Roto Funkmaster rounds, she really snaps and growls.

Here's my 2 babies.
One is a 78 and the other is a 2008.
One is a Ric and the other is a Greco.

Some of you will be able to tell, but you won't tell if you heard them. No lies!:bassist:

They sound awesome through my LMII and EA NM-410 - soon to be 2 x NM-410's.

I NEED a black pickguard, I WANT a black pickguard, I CAN handle the truth.
If anyone can help with a black one piece 4003, PLEASE let me know.
Cheers, Pete

Mate where did you get your 2008 from? Imported to Oz?

Mate, as you would know, I was very, very lucky.
I have a friend in Atlanta, I found a store in Decatur Georgia whome my friend purchased it from last August and brought it with him via Johannasburg to little old me in Perth WA.
It happened to be the year of the Jetglo and I couldn't be a happier chappy.
All this before the Ricky price rise and when our dollar was worth 95c.
I won't upset you with price, but let's just say it was better than the 2 year wait I was quoted via Ric Japan and about half what they're sold for in Sydney!!!!!
You gotta have a win once in a while.

:D Nice work.
The 2008 Ric is (and always will be) a rare beast in OZ.

I'm not sure how Rickenbacker Australasia stays in business but its not by selling Rics and parts thats fer sure. I tried to get a toaster pup for my 4001 through them and they were out of stock "for the forseeable future". No-one in the US could help me out either- they weren't allowed to sell to Australia so I had to organize a USA address and get it shipped on. :spit:   :rollno:

I know, it's terrible... but it will be a while until I have enough money to afford a Ric anyway. Maybe they will be back in stock by then?
