Post Your Sabres!!!!

My 87 sabre. Never enjoyed playing a bass so much and always gets the job done!

What a beauty! I'd give my eye teeth for one from that year with the same colour combi. I take it that's an ebony fretboard? MM switched to ebony on fretless models in late '79, although I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple from '80 which had left-over rosewood necks. Incidentally, Tony Franklin used one just like yours on the Firm's debut.

I own an all-original rosewood fretless, in black, from '79:

Here's the only pic I have of my old fretless Sabre.

S/N C002762 purchased new in May of 1980 for $550.00. Probably the only bass I've never regretted selling. Just couldn't warm up to its tone or feel.

Which year is your sunburst from? From the photo it looks like an ebony fretboard. Is this correct?

Man I love Sabres. Highly underrated instruments I've owned five of them in my life and unfortunately all but one were stolen from me and I miss them all.

Here's my sole survivor, a fretless sunburst hanging out with some much younger cousins...

Wow! this colour/fretboard combi is the holy grail for me.

I had the same with the neck on my '79, BTW. I immediately found it easy to play and have since used it on a couple of tracks in the studio:

Just found a 79 sabre at a pawn shop planned on flipping it, cause its a unlined ebony board and the thought of playing it scared me, but I played it at home and really loved it and thought I would give it a try, and boy do i love it played it last night at a worship service and today at church and have had barely any issues with the unlined board just feels natural

Anyways its all origanal in pretty good shape some rashing on the back and dings here and there but its 3 years older then me so I can't feel to bad about it not looking brand new
Here's the pics

Had to bump this thread to show my 91 Sabre. Just got it today. This thing is mint condition! I've owned a few pre EB's and this is now my second EB Sabre. It sounds great and not too heavy either. Probably about 9 pounds. Enjoy!
