This is the board that has remained steady since getting the Mothership Control ( my second C4) for my funky groovy jazz group. 6 sounds each on the Spectrum and C4 and 8 or so patches on the Zoom to add amp color, modulation and rev/delay efx. The little 5 band EQ is to give my fretless a bit more shape and output.



This board has been static for a couple of years and dread the day ever comes to need to rebuild it as it was quite a chore. Underneath is an [sfx]mThump2, Source Audio Neuro Hub, power supply and an insert where anything else can be added like the Panda Future Impact. I do switch out the chorus and will use either a TC 3Rd Dimension or Ibanez Mini Chorus. For easy quickies.

I’ve had a couple changes that kinda got me blowing up the whole system. I’ve been a dedicated gk plex user for years but I’ve started throwing things into the mix to the point where it’s put away for now. I’m starting to use some low drive and heavy drive more and even clean I changed it up. Now I’m using the Mesa subway preamp blending with a mxr m80 and I feel like I have a thicker tone with not as much hifi but still enough edge to make me happy. The special sauce at the end is it all goes to an ampeg scrdi for its aux and headphone output which seems to be the best sounding I’ve heard. You can literally not like the pedal but still appreciate the quality of the headphones and aux input. However I like to use its preamp for adding the ultra lo into my tone when I want to trigger more sub bass. It sounds cool with the distortion too. I love the tone I had before this but I know at least I can go back to it anytime.

Well I haven't met your 6 month requirement, yet. Currently at 4 months, but I just built the board back in September after 4 years of buying, trying, & selling various pedals before actually putting them to a board. Not going to be changing anything on it in the next two months though. Between the board, a new Mesa 800D and picking up my custom bass in September, I've spent enough money as it is over the past few months.

The only changes I see in the future, if they even happen...

1) Maybe a better delay and reverb, maybe. The ones I currently have are the cheapest pedals on my board, but they do what I need them to for some Pink Floyd stuff and that's really all they get used for, and that isn't very often.

2) My Way Huge Pork n Pickle. Don't need it. Don't plan on replacing it with another OD/Fuzz either. The Microtubes B3K next to it does what I want. Don't really have any pedal in mind to go there either cause my board as it sits right now does everything I need it to and more. For me to buy something else to go in it's place it would have to be something really special that offers me another way of sculpting my sound that is unique. I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

So yeah, I guess I'm pretty much set as is right now, but never say never, especially if you hang out on Talkbass

My Broughton Centric Gig Pedalboard hasn't changed since the addition of the Super Watt. Any future change if any would be swapping out a Studio One for the Messenger Jr. Although I do attach SMB just not in this photo.

the DayGlo duct tape is handmade in a Bushwick bespoke loft-space by 2 socially awkward gamers.
Pedals were sourced from a dear friend, Mr. Ali Express.

don't be fooled- 3 pieces of cardboard taped together actually have the combined strength of 3 pieces of taped-together cardboard.

Been using this in a power pop/bar band for about three years:

Works so well, I built a variation for a new band that does more pop and pop punk stuff, with a bit more distortion (Basstortion clone) and bass synth. Not quite 6 months yet, but it’s hitting all the marks.

This has been my longest lasting pedalboard so far, since March 2025 (I changed a Line6 G10s I had for years to the shure, %100 an upgrade). I find changing the order or the RFE and the EBS Billy Sheehan a bit tricky to get settled in, I find I prefer the RFE before the drive to sound better. But the issue I'm facing now is that I take pedalboard photos right before more lineup changes!

I have a Cioks Sol on the way to replace the Caline power supply under the board, and the RFE if I can get a sale rather than trading in to Long and Mquade, will be sold towards buying an Empress Para Eq Bass. I'm still thinking of a fourth pedal, perhaps I'll get a walrus canvas for a DI as an alternative to not using my amps DI out. I do have a Boss Gt1000core but it's already a process figuring out the UI navigation for guitar!

Have you tried putting RFE in the clean loop of the EBS pedal? That's where I have mine...

My current pedalboard.
Basses have Roland GK-3B hexaphonic pickups installed.
GK 13 pin signal goes into the box top right, splits into two, goes to the blue Boss SY-1000 on the left which can model 3 x independent basses models, guitar models, analog style subtractive synths, in a combination of all 3 at once, all selectable per separate string, plus a chain of 4 x amp modelling (also the normal pickup which also gets routed through the Tech21Vt-Bass and Valeton GP-5 for NAM amp models).
The SY-1000 is the master midi patch controller too, with the expression pedalvcontrolling the mix of normal bass and synth/effect.
The other GK signal routes to the Boss GM-800 for 4 x chains of synth tones, each with its own multi effect chain.
The GM-800 is split in two, half through the GK pickup/bass, the other half controlled with my DIY 5 pedal midi controller, which per patch each pedal is programmable to send cc# midi or pc# midi control, or note data as note, 4th,5th, maj,min, may7,min7,sus2,sus4 on any pedal (or all 3 controls on each pedal).
The 4 way mixer mixes all that to a stereo out to PA/desk, and a mono out to my stage amp.
Also have a Boss VE-500 vocal effects, the whole lot is all midi controlled for certain songs, and connected to the bass signal so my harmonies are in tune with the song.
An example is the patch in the photo for "no more tears" when a button press retunes the bass into drop D flat, the Minerva contains wav samples, the midi foot pedal can play the synth chord changes, just by hitting the same pedal, the Minerva cycles through each chord change in a loop, another pedal plays the mid song breakdown track.
The SY-1000 and GM-800 plays the synth on certain strings on a specific string range up the fretboard scale.
So I don't have to muck around switching synth/effect in/out, they just play at certain spots on the fretboard, or by expression pedal mix.

I've tinkered with playing without the OC-2 (always a mistake), and I usually have an aux board patched in with my expetimental instrumental duo with my wife, but for the bar band, this has been my setup since I got the Echo Fix EF-P5 in July 2025.

Working on it right now, pending one new enclosure I have yet to order. All pedals are going to be bolted down from below through the lower plate holes and any later subs would have to be in the appropriate enclosure format, and I would of course build them myself.

There will be separate well vetted EQ pedals for bass, acoustic guitar, and Dojo, the latter being stereo wired with separate EQ per pickup. One stereo delay/chorus pedal patchable to the three EQ boxes, and probably one drive pedal for electric guitar, the Dojo, and slide bass. Power via power bank into Cioks C4, bottom mounted. ~18 x 12 inches, angled. Finis!
