The lighting is a bit off. This is my Smith - Exhibition grade Clairo Walnut.

What strings do you have on? New type os transparent strings? Air strings?

No, even better! I use the pickups to amplify my vibrating metal fingers. The neck and body are merely superfluous ornaments for the pickups/preamp.

Ummm... Or I had the strings off the bass at the time.

Wow, so many cool threads on TB that it's little wonder that somehow this one slipped below my radar.

I've had a mental masterbassion for an entirely walnut-construction Dingwall Super-J — out of a variety of walnut strains (English, Black Walnut, Californian Claro & even non-true walnuts such as Butternut and Brazilian Walnut (Ipe, for the fingerboard) . Burl, curly and other figurations, too. MMmm Chocolatey!

Ahh so many ideas, so little money, so little playing skill to justify such a purchase.

Walnut Satin SUB...the quality of this $300 bass is unbelievable. Amazing neck and perfect neck pocket, fantastic fretwork, and a very nice piece of wood for the body. QC at the factory gets an A+ for this one.
