I know it's a bit of a cheat, but here I go anyway!

I've always admired the "walnut look", but closest I ever got to having one is the (sadly) discontinued Walnut Satin finish on the old Squier Standard line. Unfortunately, mine was a short-lived love affair…modding it was a Royale-With-Cheese pain in the ass and was also the heaviest bass I've ever owned. (You go from a 8.4lb Aerodyne to a 10.2lb Squier and see how comfy it feels!) Still, it's a shame it didn't work out between the two of us.

I've considered taking an unfinished body and attacking it with some Minwax Bombay Mahogany PolyShades to recreate it. Who knows what the future may hold!

For anyone who's interested, Ishibashi has a "Walnut" JB62 on it's used listings. Actually, it's ash and maple, but damn is it gorgeous! drool

I've got two walnut Wishbasses, but since they are not refinished yet I guess we can say there are no basses yet.

I've got this stack of black walnut slabs in my basement that I got years ago when the city cut down a walnut tree in my backyard. (They were going to haul it to the dump!) I have long been considering getting a Carvin neck and doing something with it just like yours!

I'm not one for Fender or Fender copies,but that is one attractive bass!!
It looks much more sophisticated than most Fender products.
Could it be something about the walnut,black and gold hardware and the pickups?

Walnut is beautiful. Really love all the basses posted in this thread. Definitely on my "want list" is a walnut Carvin Bass. I've owned Koa wood but never owned walnut. Thanks for posting.

Thanks! I love the 4004 series in general,this bass is the lightest,most contoured bass they've made,super comfortable,and very sleek-feeling with the oil finish.

Another Ho-Hum SBMM SUB Ray4 in Walnut......

Except that this one is a project. I already have a maple fretboard neck for it, and intend to strip the body finish down to natural wood. It will then get stained a "vintage" tint to match the neck. After that, a replacement Seymour Duncan alnico pickup and preamp, a Stingray bridge and flats.
