In particular someone posted an unlined neck with i think a Koa body the other day, black hardware. But can't for the life of me find it again.

I have a half -n-half Warmoth fretless...

Warmoth Standard J (20-fret) Roasted Maple neck with unlined Ebony fingerboard. Hipshot LIC Ultralight tuners and string trees.

Body is a 2014 natural-finish Soft Maple Squier VM Jazz V, Hipshot bridge, Duncan STC-BO 2band preamp. In the photo are Fender pickups, but it currently has Duncan Apollo hum-canceling pickups.

I want to do a full Warmoth build, but fretted Deluxe Jazz V. However the project is on hold for at least a year...

Here's a work-in-progress pic, from before I installed the electronics:

(tbh, six years later it's still a work-in-progress: the electronics (and strap buttons) are installed but I still haven't gotten around to applying the wipe-on poly finish to the body.)

Flamed koa top on alder body with a bubinga neck and ebony fingerboard. Finish on the body is Butcher's Boston Polish Amber Paste Wax and no finish on the neck. Wood is all Warmoth, body is their "dinky" version. I assembled it in the late '90s.

Here is my FLJ.
CIJ neck on a Warmoth body with SD Antiquity II pickups. Closeup of the Warmoth mask faux binding. It looks like binding but is just a tape off when they spray the black fade finish. I stood it infront of my Cabronita Tele clone, that is also a similar Fender neck on Warmoth body build.

Looks like they did a better than usual job matching the grain on that Squier body.

I owned this bass twice... all Warmoth (wood) parts. The slab of ebony was super-think, and the neck was very stable. the bass sounded huge!

I've lived within a hours drive from the Warmoth factory for many years and they used to have "garage sales" where they would put out various great stuff at really reduced prices so there's these:

Is that a Koa body with ebony fingerboard? What's the neck wood? Is the body capped or solid? Chambered?

Yeah, I got lucky on this one. One of the reasons I bought it.
