pot GWB-1 fretless.

hello fretless lovers,

I am a happy owner of an Ibanez signature GWB-1 fretless from 2002. In passive mode the volume is quite low, is the small potentiometer intended to raise the volume in passive mode?

thanks in advance for your input ☺️

I have the GWB205. The pot is for adjusting the active volume. I have it set to closely match the passive volume. The result of doing this will vary with whatever you plug the bass into because of impedance. For instance a usb interface has a higher impedance and the difference between active and passive will be less. On my amp I still notice some difference even though they sound equal on my interface. I usually play it in passive mode and just turn the amp's gain up a little higher. The active mode boosts the highs and lows a bit. I prefer the character of the mids in passive mode, especially for jazz. For fusion I would use active mode as it gives a more modern sound like Gary is known for.

I think that pot is used for balancing the preamp output with the passive out ie. you can turn up or down the preamp with that one.

Oops I see now Jogobass and https://www.talkbass.com/members/matt-liebenau.245980/ have it!

:)
