Potential damage from “under wrapping” strings?

When replacing strings on my Fender jazz bass I cut the E string a tad short and it only wraps 1.5 times around the tuning peg. Seems like most conventional wisdom is to have it wrap 2-3 times.

I know that this could make the string trickier to keep in tune, but does anybody know if wrapping less than two times can have any long-term negative impact on the bass? My hunch is no since there'd be no considerable changes in amount of string pressure, but wanted to pose the question as I've not had any luck finding info on this. Thanks y'all!
