Same here (sorry OP, though I'm not laughing at your misfortune), I've used this stuff at work...I know how impossible it can be! Once, I used too much to secure a small router to the shelf of a test rack...everything was fine until I had to remove the router and felt as though its housing would come apart and split in half before before the damn thing would unhook itself!

I'm laughing WITH the OP as well! I now screw or staple on velcro straps (or even long zip-ties) to mount small electronic items on the bottom of my desktop.

...I bet that old Linksys Router is STILL hanging in there almost 20 years later!

I feel so dumb. Used some amazing 3m dual lock (velcro on steroids) to attach my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ power supply to the bottom of my new pedalboard. I regretfully put 4 strips worth of the 3m dual lock on the power supply(apparently you only need a couple small pieces to keep the power supply in place. I went with the entire bottom covered in the stuff). The pedalboard is a really nice, small Creation Music company board. It's small(17"x8") but pretty tall so you can mount a good size power supply underneath. So stupid me, I mounted it in a way that the power plugs were butted up against the inner wall of the board so I can't plug in my power cables! I literally tried for 20 minutes to pull this thing off the board so I could orient it properly and it didn't even budge. Kind of at a loss. Anyone with experience with 3m dual lock and it's mythical holding powers? Must I use a razor blade and try to cut through the actual adhesive of the strip?

I haven't tried it with that particular stuff, but rather than trying to pull it apart, separate it. I used to use a thin, flexible ruler to separate velcro. Slide it in between the pieces and try to slide it all the way across.

Heat gun the top.. Then turn it upside down stand on it.. And pull straight up on both sides.. Then a metal spatula at an angle..

Be careful with that...acetone will "melt" some types of plastic (like ABS). I'm a fan of the prybars people have suggested. Get a 90 degree angle one that can fit in there.

Put some more velcro on the side of the power supply. Then attach a strip of the opposite hook/loop to that and pull up on it. Maybe it will pull loose. Then you have velcro all over the thing when you're done.

Grab your favorite spatula and get to work! Dual lock can be defeated, but it won't be easy. Just gotta get something in there to start separating the stuff.

My board is covered with the stuff. There are a few patches where the Velcro was so strong the strip peeled off the pedal and now I can’t get those strips off the board! This is not a laughing matter!
