PP2+ AC Courtesy outlet

I use the courtesy outlet on my PP2+ for my Radial BassBone, since you can't power it with one of the regular spots. It comes in very handy.

In your situation, I'd either read the manual (if it has anything on this) or contact Voodoo Lab and ask. They'd know more about it.
 
I use the courtesy outlet to power a couple of other pedals with unique requirements. The mains outlet loops straight through from the input so no, it does not change the voltage. The 200W rating is so you don't melt the wires connecting the inlet to outlet.

The outlet is a universal IEC C13 socket. To use it you will need to make or buy a lead with IEC C14 plug to GPO socket. Invalid Link Removed in Sydney sells them, or perhaps try a PC shop that sells UPS's.

I think that the 200W limit on the courtesy outlet would limit the ability to daisy chain an additional PP2+ effectively.

I've got daisy chains running off of individual outlets of the PP2+ where I use low draw pedals without issue. It's much more economical than buying a second unit, assuming that low draw 9V pedals make up the bulk of your collection.
 
I haven't done the math properly, but a quick slosh-about in my head suggests 200W should be fine for running a second PP2+ in the US, but maybe not in the 220/240V world. A watt is a volt-amp, so let's say the PP2 itself needs 110 V (in the US), you'd theoretically still have 1800 mA of draw available before things start burning up or shutting down. With 240V from the wall, you'd only have about 830 mA available.

Feel free to correct me if I've made a mental blunder, this was just off the top of my head. :)

What is it capable of powering?

I have a 240V version yet the AC outlet is not the connector for my country's power...

MY main question is
If I were to get something like a Line 6 M9 from the USA in 110V (where they're way cheaper) would I be able to power it from the AC Courtesy outlet from my 240V Pedal Power 2+?

I use it to power my M13 on my US version. No problem.

So essentially I can hook up another 240V power supply with up to 830mA current draw before things start going crazy.

Only issue now is finding the correct connection to make this work!

Please keep us posted with with your outcome as I am going through the same thing at the moment trying to power up my AC powered Carl MArtin bass chorus.

I have found a few converters on-line that swap out from c14 to GPO but If you source one locally please let me know!

Hey Bongo, you are on the right track. You are calculating things on the AC mains side of things. In the US, the courtesy outlet will pass 1800mA of AC current. In Aus it'll be 830mA.

I actually measured the AC current draw of my pedalboard a couple of years ago. What was in it? See pic (hope I did that right...). The PP2+ with all the pedals on & all the loops on drew 47.5mA x 240V AC = 11.4W If you had more current-hungry pedals it might draw more, maybe 15W (should be similar in the US as you will have lower voltage but be pulling more current). So in theory you could daisy chain 200W / 15W = 13 fully loaded PP2+'s through their courtesy outlets (+ the first one in the chain) = 14!

Now the challenge is out there, I wanna see someone do it! :D
