Not a spelling mistake, but here's one that I don't like:
Addictive vs. Addicting
The correct way is, "these chips are addictive." NOT "these chips are addicting."
"Addicting" is not an adjective.
I don't think I've seen it done correctly on this or any other forum. And I'm hearing "addicting" more and more in real life, so much that I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually replaces "addictive."
But here's the odd thing. When referring to drugs or alcohol, almost everyone says "addictive." When it's anything else, I more often hear "addicting."
