Practise is spelled Practice.

You can use either "practice" or "practise" as a verb, but only "practice" as a noun.

Safest just to use "practice".

I make mistakes all the time I've only just got the correct usage of the apostrophe right!

I constantly try to improve my language and how I use it. Right now I'm trying to learn to say "correct" instead of "right" when I'm using it in an affirmative sense.

I've become a language nazi too (well, in Dutch anyway, I don't study English), if people make mistakes against the correct usage of certain words, or if I see spelling mistakes in written texts, I always correct them. This doesn't make me popular with some people (especially on message boards) but it has to be done!

Not a spelling mistake, but here's one that I don't like:

Addictive vs. Addicting

The correct way is, "these chips are addictive." NOT "these chips are addicting."
"Addicting" is not an adjective.

I don't think I've seen it done correctly on this or any other forum. And I'm hearing "addicting" more and more in real life, so much that I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually replaces "addictive."

But here's the odd thing. When referring to drugs or alcohol, almost everyone says "addictive." When it's anything else, I more often hear "addicting."

Both are fine. Though "addictogenic" might be more correct.

No worries, you've made an honest mistake.

Indefinite articles depend on the sound of the following word rather than it's first letter.

A unicorn, a European, a U.S. citizen.
An honour, an M.A., an "s".
