Pre-Amp and Combo amp

Ok here is what I have Ibanez SW65.

Here is what I am thinking of doing...

I want to hook up a tube pre amp..... what I was thinking is to run it through the Effects return to by pass the pre amp in the amp itself and essentially use the SW65 as a power amp.

The specs on the amp are 65wats @4 ohm.

I like the amp, it is plenty load for me and works good as a monitor for when I play "out". just want to get some nice warm tube sounds for the bass... oh.... I have a OLP Tony Levin Stingray 5 copy... that is what I am running....

Any help/ideas would be great )

That's what you do... preamp into the effects return.

Or, you can plug into the input and flatten out your combo amp's preamp section. You will have quite a bit more input gain, though, so you'll have to tweak that.
