1966 Transitional period. I'm pretty sure this bass was made from pre CBS parts. I pull it if you want. Just thought I'd share.

1963 Precision, mine since 1967, repainted around 1972. Has a '72 neck because the truss rod broke in the original neck.
Thanks for sharing. The more I see the more I fall in love with all of these things.
Maybe I'll luck out and score another some time in my life.![]()
My 64 P - looks like it's had a much rougher life than the others.

That's just wrong...

I have '66 P. Transitional period as CBS acquired Fender 1965 (correct me if I'm wrong) Does that count?
CBS really did not start destroying Fender until about 1970. I have played some pretty amazing 69 P- basses over the years.
sub'd for later tonight, when I'm all alone, and no one can judge me...
Kidding, but really, nice basses everyone.![]()

Well then I can't be the type to turn down a 40+ year old bass still being played and loved by someone.
What do you guys think?
Should we keep it strictly January 65 and before or just open it up through lets say, 1969???????
By the way what year did Fender first build the first electric bass?
Was it the P Bass? and what year was it first available?
man, some great basses here. BTW, what happened to the appraisal thread on the 62 shell pink refinish? Was following it but now it's deleted.
