I know I've been starting a lot of these question mark threads lately, but I have a question. Although I haven't seen many set-ups like this on TB profiles, but are there any good rack mounted preamps for DB to be used with a power amp like the Stewart 2.1? This kind of set up looks like it would be good for doubling. I don't really need an amp for BG right now, but since I am planning to throw down bu-ku cash on a new rig, I guess it would be good to have versitility.

Double Bass Preamp for DB?

I use an older model (1 1/2 rack space) Demeter preamp with a Stewart 1.2. I originally bought the Demeter just for upright work, but it's great for electric bass too. If you want a bundle of voicing options you should probably look elsewhere, but for warm, hi-fi reproduction, it's (oh yeah, I'd better wash it) the ****!
Has anyone tried any of the 'voice processor' units like this:

Not specifically a 'bass' unit but there's several on the market that seem to have all the right features.

A preamp that i whole heartedly recommend for doubling is the SansAmp RPM. It's voiced darker than the RBI. My catch-i haven't plugged my DB into it since i put the realist on. The realist on my bass is VERY high output.
I also use the RPM for my electric basses. It sounds very good clean, yet if you want to add some grit to your tone-it can do that in spades. Pretty cost effective too-i think they're around $300. I modded mine by putting a blue light in it instead of the red. I bought the blue light off of someone on here a few years back.
