Preamp suggestions

Can anyone recommend me a good preamp? Hav a gk 1001rb II that I love but I feel the low notes could be a bit warmer and sound... Bigger. The tone I hav dialed in is treble at 12, high mids at 1.30, low mids at 3, bass at 12. So I like my sound to be really punchy. Sorta going for a tone similar to Justin chancellor... Was looking at the sansamp bddi but everyone says it scoops the mids which is a big no no for me. Would the RBI be a better choice? Or para driver? Or something else?

I'm leaning towards the RBI but I like the idea of having 2 or 3 channels so I can add a bit of grit to my tone half way through a song.

Or is the thin low note problem I'm having is the bass's fault? Have a schecter stiletto studio 4

Thanks

I used a VT Bass for the exact same purpose you're looking for. Now I sold it and ordered a VT Bass v2 with a speaker sim defeat button to tame some of the clankiness. I love the tone of VT through GK.

If you want bigger lows try the Eden WTDI. the 'bass boost' adjusts the signal along the fletcher-munson loudness curve and you'll hear more of a note definition along what you may think of as 'fundamental'. I engage mine and gut lows with the onboard EQ and I have a great control over the shape of the low end with my gear.

I know your post alluded to an amp style pre but if you're looking for a tighter more defined bottom end, the WTDI is pretty amazing.

On top of all of that, running a VT into that would be amazing. You'd hae the eden thing on tap and you'd have the ampeg thing on tap, alone, together, or neither, you'd have more potential for tones than most people would ever need.

It's those subtle shifts that can really add the support that feels right.
