PREAMP? Which One?

So I am setting up my first rack unit, and I am personally unsure of what to spend my money on. I've looked at basically everything and i am still unsure. One thing i do know is that i would like my preamp to have as good of a tube sound as possible, with enough support from the power amp as well. So far i think i am interested in the ampeg svp-pro, svp-cl, or the Eden navigator w100. And as far as power amps i think i like the crown XTi1000

But like i said i really don't know so let me know what you think, brands, prices and ideas would be great, thanks again

A huge part of the equation is: what kinds of music do you play? And when you say "tube sound", are you thinking of "clean but warm", "fat and chunky", "slightly overdriven", "cranked SVT", or what?
