Morning friends... Hope most of y'all are enjoying a day off jamming!

Question for you: If money were no object in acquiring a new Fender Precision, which of these two heavy hitters would you jump on?

what's your objective with this "what if?"
- to spend ~5k?
- to get a great P-bass?
- to get a signature P?
- other, more?

thanks in advance!

Since there's a trend of answering the question with something other than the choices the OP listed, I'll play along, too...

I would choose another Mike Lull P5 Precision-style 5-string bass just the one I just heartbrokenly sold.

Or make an appeal to buy it back some day.
I chose a Lull P4 recently and haven't looked back.

I sold my P5 because it was always the third choice to grab after my Lull M5V Jazz-style bass and my Stingray Special. I love, love, love the idea of having a P5, I really do. But between getting older and scaling back to just what I use and the fact that I took all of December off to just enjoy family and a little solitude (not to reflect or contemplate, I just enjoyed hanging at home), it was tough recovering financially even though I thought I was prepared to not work. And the P5 buyer is head & heels over the P5, as best as I can tell.

I can relate... I'm getting ready to "retire" at the end of this year, so I've been getting my bass gear settled now before retiring (to play music as one of two main post retirement gigs).

Sorry for the derail.
