Very nice, I think sunburst/tort Fenders P's are the classiest looking Fenders of them all, I have a nice sunburst/tort Tony Franklin fretless. I'm not crazy about the pickup cover though but I've never liked covers on any bass, always took them off and either lost them or gave them away. I once gave away 4 or 5 Rickenbacker covers to people who belonged to a club I belonged to. I've been around for a long time and sunburst/tort P's were once so ubiquitous that I couldn't stand them (the color that is), many people sanded that color off years ago it was so common, that is why you see so many natural 50's and 60's Fenders in old band pictures. Many of them have been refinished now though. Natural wasn't offered until the early 70's I believe.

Classic look. That tort does not look that great but that's par for the course these days unless you get a Spitfire or something vintage.
The first post said it best. That's the "quintessential" look for a P bass. But, to me, it screams "trying too hard."
I prefer solid colors and dirty white pickguards. Rosewood or maple is fine, but I generally prefer rosewood. The bridge cover is a useful tool if you use the string mute, but the pickup cover just gets in the way.
Edit: Apologies in advance if some of this sounds troll-ish. I think the bass looks great, but my overall opinion is what I said.

Not 8 lb 8 oz, or 8 1/2, (my weight cut off), this one is pushing 9 lb. I go for under 8 lb myself.
Ask for a really accurate weight, like a photo on a digital shipping scale.

Love the sunburst. The tort looks kinda brown. Buy it, it probably looks perfect in person. If after a few months you don't like it, change the pickguard. Pickguards are cheap, perfect basses are rare. Needs GHS Precision Flats if it doesn't already have them.
My goodness, what was wrong with my visual processing center on that one, do you think? Man.

I like everything about it except the pickguard. I hate tort. Salami goes on sandwiches, not musical instruments. Spoiled, dried out salami is only good on sandwiches if you are really, really hungry.

Best reissues Fender ever made IMO, those AVs from 2013–2018 (actually very late 2012 to 2018). The finishes were top notch, with nitro-based sealer and extra lacquer thinner mixed in to the color and clear, so they are quit thin, like the candy shell of an M&M. And they still had the old school radii and frets (my preferences, always). I'll bet the bass is really nice. I have the '58 P and the '64 J from that short lived series, and I aim to get one of the red '63 Ps some day.
The sunburst is just all right. Can't say it looks bad...but it doesn't really "do anything" for me. In order for me to like a 3-tone sunburst, the center color needs to be just dyed wood or a very lightly tinted translucent, not that semi-opaque sprayed center color.
